Following, are three principles that were used to develop the Performance Management Program:

  1. Align all staffs' work and outcomes with the mission and strategic plan and the goals of the University of 51视频.
  2. Encourage two-way communications about performance that is constructive, not adversarial, in a partnership between staff and supervisor.
  3. Create a fair means to recognize high performance and address poor performance.

To prepare for the Performance Management Program's cycle, staff and supervisors should:

  1. Review the University's Mission, Vision, and Strategic Plan.
  2. Review and/or update the staff member's job description in coordination with the Office of Human Resources.
  3. Develop performance expectations and goals.
  4. Determine a plan for training that may be needed for the staff member to be successful and create achievable goals.
