- Learning more about a potential company's culture to see if your values are compatible and to determine if you would like to work there in the future.
- Receiving a full-time job offer - many companies use the internship program to evaluate your potential for positions after graduation
The Internship Office at the Kania School of Management works in conjunction with our office to help you develop the skills you need to find and succeed in internships. Under certain circumstances, internships may qualify for academic credit. Students are encouraged to discuss this possibility with their academic department and the Kania School Advising Center.

Finding an Internship
Focus Your Search

- What are the skills you would like to use and the interests you would like to incorporate?
- What type of employer interests you? (i.e. large corporation, non-profit, start-up, etc.)
- What geographic region are you looking in? How far are you willing to commute?
- What industry(s) are you interested in?
If you have trouble answering these questions, consider talking with professors, administrators, alumni, and friends about what their jobs entail. These conversations will help you begin to discern the types of roles and responsibilities that interest you.
Start Early and Get Organized
