Daniel Cosacchi, Ph.D., joined the University in 2022 as Vice President for Mission and Ministry. In this role, he is responsible for the various departments that comprise the University’s Mission and Ministry division.

Dr. Cosacchi previously served as Assistant Professor of Religious Studies at Marywood University. In addition to teaching core and elective courses in theology and religious studies there, he was the College of Arts and Sciences representative on the Mission Integration Committee and Director of the Justice and Peace Studies Program. He also served as Marywood’s representative to the Synod on Syondality.

Prior to his service at Marywood, Dr. Cosacchi taught at Fairfield University and was a Canisius Postdoctoral Fellow there from 2016 to 2019. He served as faculty moderator for the Canisius Academy, planning and hosting prominent events centered on social justice and the Catholic intellectual heritage, and moderating mini-lectures on Catholic topics. He also served as a mentor for Ignatian Residential College.

Dr. Cosacchi is co-author and editor of the book “The Berrigan Letters: Personal Correspondence Between Daniel and Philip Berrigan,” which includes excerpts of letters between the brothers, who were known for their social activism. He has also published peer-reviewed articles in the Journal of Jesuit Studies, among others.

Dr. Cosacchi earned his bachelor’s degree from Fordham University, his master’s from Boston College, and his doctorate from Loyola University of Chicago.

Through his education at Jesuit universities and his experience in higher education at Catholic schools, Dr. Cosacchi understands well and values greatly the important role Catholic and Jesuit education plays in the formation of our students.

Robert W. Davis, Jr., was appointed Vice President for University Advancement in 2022.

He leads the Advancement team, which seeks to assist students, alumni, parents, faculty, staff and friends as they strive to achieve the University's mission through engagement and philanthropic activity. 

Prior to his current role, he served as Vice President for Student Life from 2018 to 2022. He was responsible for the overall management of the division which includes Athletics, University Police, the Center for Career Development, the Center for Health Education and Wellness, the Center for Student Engagement, the Counseling Center, the Cross Cultural Centers, Residence Life, Recreational and Club Sports, Student Conduct and Assessment, Student Health Services, Student Government, Dining Services and the University Bookstore. 

He joined The University of 51ÊÓƵ in 2006 and has served in various capacities across campus.  His previous roles include, Area Coordinator and Assistant Director for Housing Operations in the Office of Residence Life.  In the Division of Development & Alumni Relations, Bobby served as Interim Vice President for Development & Alumni Relations.  He was Assistant Director and then Director of the Pride, Passion, Promise Campaign that raised $129 million to support scholarships and capital projects on campus. Most recently, he was Chief of Staff in the Office of the President.  Prior to his time at the University, he was a volunteer in the Alumni Service Corps at St. Joseph’s Preparatory School in Philadelphia.

Timothy P. Doyle joined the University in 2024 as Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration. He brings with him an impressive history of leadership experience in finance and administration in higher education, research institutions and the military with the perspective of a foundation laid at Catholic elementary and secondary schools and a Jesuit college.

Mr. Doyle most recently served as President and Chief Operating Officer at Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF) in New York City. Previously, he served as the Chief Operating Officer and Treasurer at the Carnegie Institution for Science in Washington, D.C.  

He also served as Associate Dean for Finance and Chief Financial Officer for Harvard University’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. There, he led efforts to create a multi-year financial planning and modeling tool to generate five-year financial forecasts and financial feasibility analysis of new academic and funding initiatives. Throughout his career, he has established a track record of working in collaboration with academic leadership to build partnerships around transformational initiatives to establish and meet long-range, sustainable financial plans.

A Boston native and first-generation college student, Mr. Doyle earned a bachelor’s degree from Boston College, where he participated in ROTC. He subsequently served on active duty for three years and with the Army Reserve for a decade, before leaving military service as a Captain. Prior to his work at Harvard, he was Vice President of Financial Operations at Fidelity Investments and Director of Operations at Rand McNally. He earned an executive MBA, summa cum laude, from Suffolk University and pursued additional graduate and executive education programs at the Institute for Education Management at Harvard’s Graduate School of Education.

Robert B. Farrell was appointed General Counsel in 2010 with the additional role of University Secretary in 2015. Dr. Farrell has practiced law for over 30 years with extensive legal and management experience in university, municipal and nonprofit settings. Over his career, he has specialized in higher education, municipal, employment, labor and corporate law. Dr. Farrell oversees all University legal affairs and is responsible for 51ÊÓƵ's overall legal strategy. He serves as a member of the President's Cabinet and advises the President, Board of Trustees and the administration on a wide range of legal matters.

Dr. Farrell joined 51ÊÓƵ as Director of Community Relations in 2008, and served as the Executive Director of Community Relations and Public Safety in 2009, prior to becoming General Counsel. In these roles, Dr. Farrell served on the President's cabinet and advised the President on matters related to the University's position in the broader community. He also oversaw the transition of the Public Safety force to armed University Police.

Prior to joining 51ÊÓƵ, Dr. Farrell served as the City Solicitor to the City of 51ÊÓƵ. He was a partner in the law firm of Kreder, Brooks, Hailstone & Ludwig before working for the city, and spent his first year out of law school as a judicial law clerk.

Dr. Farrell earned his A.B. in history from the College of the Holy Cross in 1987. He earned his J.D. from the Dickinson School of Law of the Pennsylvania State University in 1992. He earned an Ed.D. in higher education management, with distinction, from the University of Pennsylvania in 2019.

Elizabeth Garcia joined the University in 2018 as the Executive Director for the Office of Equity and Diversity and Title IX Coordinator.  In 2020, she was named Special Assistant to the President and appointed to the President’s Cabinet. 

Prior to joining the University, Ms. Garcia was a shareholder at the Parker McCay, P.A. law firm in southern New Jersey, where she worked for over 18 years. Her practice heavily centered on labor, employment, civil rights, local government and education law.  She also held judicial law clerk positions in State and Federal Court.  Her leadership roles included, but were not limited to, President of the Burlington County Bar Association, Vice Chair of the Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce, and President of the Burlington County Bar Foundation.

Ms. Garcia earned her B.A. in International Relations and Hispanic Studies from Wheaton College in Massachusetts in 1997 and her J.D. from the James E. Beasley School of Law at Temple University in 2000.

David Marx, Ph.D., serves as Acting Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs. He joined the Provost's Office in 2020 as Interim Associate Provost. He served as Associate Provost from 2021 to 2024.

Dr. Marx joined the faculty at 51ÊÓƵ in 1987. Over more than 30 years, he has served the University in numerous ways, including as chair of the Department of Chemistry for five consecutive terms, as the University’s chemical hygiene officer for nearly two decades, as a faculty senator for many years. He served on numerous senate and campus-wide committees, including the University Governance, University Planning and Provost’s Academic Policy Committee. Recently, he served important roles as coordinator of general education and co-chair of the Faculty Senate Curriculum Committee. He also served as the faculty representative to the Education Committee of the Board of Trustees for four years.

As a scholar, Dr. Marx has presented his research on topics including kinetics and photochemistry at national and international conferences. He has also earned numerous research grants to support his work and holds several U.S. Patents.

Lauren Scott Rivera, J.D., M.Ed., serves as the Vice President for Student Life and the Dean of Students. Prior to this role, she served as the Interim Vice President for Student Life and Dean of Students for the 2022-23 academic year. 

From 2015 to 2022, Lauren served as Assistant Vice President for Student Formation and Campus Life (Student Life) and Dean of Students, a role that allowed her to focus her efforts on student advocacy and support while working with colleagues to foster a vibrant and transformative learning experience for our students. As Assistant Vice President and Dean of Students, she led the Center for Health Education and Wellness (CHEW), the Center for Student Engagement, the Cultural Centers (Jane Kopas Women's Center and Multicultural Center), the Dean of Students Office, and the Office of Residence Life. She also served as moderator for Student Government.

Prior to coming to the University, Lauren worked in the Office of Judicial Affairs at The Pennsylvania State University, where she earned both a Juris Doctorate and a Master of Education. She graduated from Bucknell University with a Bachelor or Arts in political science and religion.

Patricia L. Tetreault, SHRM-SCP, SPHR was appointed to the position of Vice President for Human Resources in July 2018. She joined the University in 2009, first as the Director of Compensation and Benefits and was promoted to Assistant Vice President for Human Resources in 2011, and Associate Vice President for Human Resources in 2014. Patricia served as Interim Vice President for Human Resources for the period September 2013 – June 2014. She earned an Associate Degree in Health Administration, a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies and a Master Degree in Business Administration, all from The University of 51ÊÓƵ. She holds the national SHRM-SCP and SPHR Human Resources certifications and has more than 30 years of Human Resources/Employee Benefits experience in a variety of industries. 

Patricia serves on various University committees, including the President’s Cabinet, Faculty Personnel Committee, the University Planning Committee, the Information Security and Advisory Council and is the Cabinet liaison to the Staff Senate.  Patricia formerly served on the Boards of Directors for St. Joseph’s Center and the Northeast Pennsylvania Society for Human Resources (NEPA SHRM). She has completed the AJCU Jesuit Leadership Seminar and the Ignatian Colleagues Program (ICP). Through ICP, Patricia participated in an Immersion experience at the Kino Border in Nogales Arizona/Mexico.

In her current role as Vice President for Human Resources, she is responsible for Human Resources operations including employment, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits.

Gerry Zaboski serves as Senior Vice President for the Office of the President, with divisional responsibility for news and media relations, marketing communications, community engagement, government affairs, and printing and mailing services. He previously served as  Vice President for Enrollment Management & External Affairs, Vice Provost for Enrollment Management & External Affairs, Vice President for External Affairs, and Vice President for Alumni and Public Relations. He has worked at 51ÊÓƵ since 1988 in various positions, including executive assistant to the president and director of public relations. Prior to joining the University, he worked as public information manager for the Greater 51ÊÓƵ Chamber of Commerce.

He serves on the board and executive committee as First Vice President of the Agency for Community Empowerment, on the Executive Committee of the Lackawanna Industrial Fund Enterprises  and as treasurer of the West Wyoming Hose Company #1. He previously served on the Executive Committee of the Jesuit Advancement Administrators (JAA) and on the Communications Advisory Council of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities. He is a past member of the board of the National Association of Presidential Assistants in Higher Education and a past president of the 51ÊÓƵ Lions Club.

Shannon Zottola joined the University in 2022 as Vice President for Enrollment Management. She previously served as Vice President and Dean for Enrollment Management and Marketing at Ursinus College.

A native of 51ÊÓƵ, Ms. Zottola has over 17 years of leadership experience in enrollment management. She is strongly committed to Catholic and Jesuit education that is grounded in liberal arts and centered around students. After beginning her service at Ursinus in 2018, she led the school’s effort to successfully recruit three of the largest, most diverse and academically talented classes in the school’s history. Ms. Zottola also created a strategic enrollment plan that is now considered a “best practice” among her peers in higher education. Her work in admissions and marketing has won numerous Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) and College and University Public Relations Association of Pennsylvania (CUPRAP) awards.

Previously, Ms. Zottola held several positions in admissions at Cabrini University, including Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management. She also served at Marywood University in several capacities, including Assistant Director of Retention and Advising. She was a faculty fellow at Cabrini and an instructor at Marywood.

Ms. Zottola is a member of the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC), the Pennsylvania Association for College Admission Counseling (PACAC) and the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO).

Ms. Zottola earned a both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
